HKI Expands Footprint in China with Grand Opening Representative Office in Shenzhen

Indonesian Industrial Estates Association (HKI) continues to strengthen its role as a strategic bridge between Indonesia’s industrial estates and global investors through the establishment of its representative office in Shenzhen, China. This initiative is part of HKI’s international expansion strategy to broaden investment access, strengthen business connectivity, and enhance the global competitiveness of Indonesian industrial estates.

The opening of HKI’s representative office in Shenzhen marks an important first step in actively promoting Indonesia’s industrial estates to global investors, particularly amid global supply chain shifts and growing investment interest in Southeast Asia. As one of the world’s leading manufacturing and economic hubs, Shenzhen is expected to serve as a strategic gateway for fostering partnerships, accelerating investment discussions, and creating new business opportunities for HKI members across Indonesia.

Established in 1988, HKI currently represents more than 125 registered industrial estate operators across Indonesia, managing over 160,000 hectares of industrial land. For more than 35 years, HKI has continuously supported Indonesia’s industrial development through collaboration between industrial stakeholders, government institutions, and international strategic partners.

HKI views the establishment of this representative office not merely as an international presence, but as a concrete effort to directly connect global investment opportunities with Indonesia’s industrial estate sector. HKI believes Indonesia holds strong potential as a future manufacturing and industrial investment destination, supported by its strategic location, large market potential, growing infrastructure development, and competitive industrial ecosystem.

In the near future, HKI also plans to expand its international network by establishing representative offices in Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, as well as other major global economic centers. This expansion is expected to further strengthen the international promotion of Indonesian industrial estates while opening broader collaboration opportunities for all HKI members.

Through this global network expansion, HKI aims to help accelerate quality investment inflows, support national industrial growth, create employment opportunities, and strengthen Indonesia’s position as one of Asia’s strategic industrial hubs.
